Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Lenou app for iPhone and iPad, and this website.
In short
The Lenou app collects nothing about you. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no trackers and no third-party software. Everything the app shows comes from the Lenou Core in your own home. Nothing goes to Bernard Struelens, and there is no Lenou server for your data to end up on.

The data in your house is yours: it sits on your own box, under your own roof. We have no access to it.
What the app stores on your device
Only what is needed to talk to your house. Everything below stays on the device itself.
- Sign-in key
- The key your box issued for this one device, stored in the iOS Keychain. Deliberately not in ordinary settings, because those are readable in a backup.
- Your password
- Is not stored. It is used once, at sign-in, to ask the box for a key. After that it is gone.
- Address of the house
- The address on your own network, and optionally a second address for when you are away. Held in the app's local settings.
- Your preferences
- Which wall screen this device shows, and which buttons you chose for CarPlay. Also in the local settings.
- Brand accounts
- Are not in the app. A login you enter for a brand — Miele, Spotify, MELCloud — you give to the box, and it stays there, in your own home.
Delete the app and the key and those settings go with it. To clear things on the house side as well, revoke that device's key in the web app of your box.
Where your data goes
The app connects to one address: the Lenou Core in your home, the address you entered under Settings, and to nothing else. That happens over your own network at home, or over the secure connection the owner of the installation set up themselves. Between the app and your box there is no intermediary, no service of ours, no sharing with third parties and no sale of anything.
Your box can talk to the outside world, but only where you ask it to. If you add a brand that works solely through its own cloud — a Miele oven, a Mitsubishi air conditioner through MELCloud, a Samsung washing machine, Spotify — you hand that account to the box once, and the box then talks to that manufacturer on your behalf. That is a connection between your home and that brand, under that brand's privacy policy. We are not in between, and we never see that data.
Whatever works locally needs none of this: KNX, Modbus, DALI, Zigbee, Shelly and Philips Hue talk to the box and to no one else.
What the app does not contain
- No analytics or usage statistics.
- No advertising and no advertising identifier.
- No trackers and no profiling.
- No third-party SDKs or libraries — the app uses Apple's own frameworks exclusively.
- No crash reporting to us.
Separately from us, Apple may ask your permission to share anonymous crash and usage data with developers. You control that on your device under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. We do not ask for it and do not enable it anywhere.
What your box keeps
The Lenou Core keeps the history of your house — which devices were on when, how much the sun produced — so that the app can draw charts. That data lives on the box, stays there, and is yours. The app reads it; it sends it nowhere else.
Who in the house has access is up to you: every resident gets their own sign-in, which you can create and revoke on the box.
Children
The app is intended for the residents of a house with a Lenou installation. It collects data from no one, of any age.
Your rights
Under the European privacy rules (GDPR) you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data. Because we neither receive nor hold any personal data about you, there is nothing at our end to access or erase. Your house's data sits on your own box, where you can inspect and delete it yourself.

This website
This site sets no cookies, measures no visitors and loads no fonts, scripts or images from third parties. The pages are held by a hosting provider which, like any web server, may keep technical request logs. We do not consult them.
Changes
If anything in this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date at the top. If the change is material, we will say so in the app as well.
